Malayalam’s latest Rs 100 crore hit, Vaazha 2, is still running successfully in theatres in its fourth week. Meanwhile, online reports have surfaced claiming that the film will be available online by the mid of next month. According to reports, JioHotstar has acquired the digital rights to this film and will start streaming it on May 15. The movie is probably going to be released in other South Indian languages besides Malayalam, though the producers have not confirmed this.
In just one week of its theatrical run, the movie made a box office collection of over Rs 100 crore worldwide. This is an impressive feat given that the film was made on a small budget of less than Rs 10 crore and starring mostly debutantes who are well-known for creating social media content. After an outstanding opening on April 2, the film had a phenomenal increase at the box office over the course of the holidays ahead. Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros. is now running successfully with packed theatres throughout the state thanks to word-of-mouth publicity and favourable reviews from movie critics as well as the audience.
Similar to its predecessor, Vaazha 2 revolves around four friends who are called losers and troublemakers by both their family and other people. They set out on an emotional voyage of self-discovery, discovering how to accept their obligations and achieve success on their own terms. Hashir, Alan Bin Siraj, Ajin Joy, Vinayak V, Vijay Babu, Aju Varghese, Alphonse Puthren, Bijukuttan, and Sudheesh all play important parts in Vaazha 2.
Vaazha: Biopic of a Billion Boys, which debuted in theatres in 2024, is currently available for streaming on JioHotstar. After receiving positive reviews from viewers, the film's creators announced the sequel, describing the plot as another plausible story centred on youngsters.
