Sree Gokulam Movies is producing Vijesh Panathur’s next directorial. They made the official announcement with photos on social media platforms. The shooting of this new film will begin in September this year itself. According to the makers, this untitled project will be a fantasy film. With the release of the popular horror comedy Prakambanam earlier this year, Vijesh Panathur — who previously directed Dhyan Sreenivasan's Nadikalil Sundari Yamuna along with Unni Vellora — became a well-known director.
Prakambanam is available for streaming with English subtitles on ZEE5. It revolves around Jithu, Punyalan, and Sagar as they navigate the turbulent realm of college politics and student life. But things take a hilarious turn when Jithu's grandma dies and his friend and roommate, Punyalan, accidentally breathes in her ashes, giving her possession of him. The main plot points of the film are why she won't leave Punyalan's body and how the three friends will handle this ghost.
The main actors in Prakambanam are Ganapathi, Sagar Surya, and Ameen. The film was a major box office success, making about Rs 20 crore in just one month while having a mere Rs 5 crore budget. Prakambanam got mostly great reviews in cinemas, with audiences praising Sagar Surya's portrayal of Punyalan in particular. The movie stars late actor Kalabhavan Navaz, Gayathri Satheesh, and Anagha Ajith in addition to Azeez Nedumangad, P P Kunjikrishnan, and Mallika Sukumaran. The screenplay and dialogue were written by debutante Sreehari Vadakkan, while the director developed the plot.
