Sreenath Bhasi’s action thriller, Pongala, will be available to watch online soon. The film’s digital streaming rights have been bought by Amazon Prime Video. According to makers, it will be accessible on the platform from June 12.
After its theatrical release, Pongala had not garnered much attention from the audience. Kichu, Baburaj, Alencier, and Sampath Ram Tellus all have important roles in the film, which is directed by AB Binil. Pongala is a gripping story with important social and political concerns that was primarily shot in the Vypin–Cherai region of Kochi. The theme of the movie is a man's life being ruined by betrayal under the pretence of friendship, followed by the circumstances that push him toward retaliation.
Based on real events that happened along the Vypin–Munambam coast, the story is set in a port in the early 2000s. The film's supporting cast includes Yami Sona, Sudheer Karamana, Sadiq, Suryakrish, Indrajith Jagajith, Murugan Martin, Sminu Sijo, Shanthakumari, and Renu Sundar. Pongala's technical crew includes Jackson as its cinematographer and Ajas Pukkadan as the editor.

Sreenath Bhasi's other 2025 release was the jailbreak thriller Azadi, which is available to watch on Manorama Max and Sun NXT in both Malayalam and Tamil. His recent film was Karakkam, which is a musical horror comedy that released in theatres in May. It will be streaming on Sony LIV post its theatrical run. Amazon Prime Video is also streaming recent Malayalam films such as Sukhamano Sukhamann, Derby and Bhishmar. Shane Nigam’s Dridam is also set to make its OTT debut on JioHotstar on June 12.
