Georgekutty (Mohanlal), the man who turned cable TV knowledge into a weapon of survival, is returning for one final showdown with Drishyam 3, the third instalment in the Malayalam thriller franchise, which is officially set for a worldwide theatrical release on May 21, 2026 with shows beginning as early as 8 am.

The story of a family man protecting his kin from the legal fallout of an accidental crime resonated globally, leading to remakes in multiple languages. After the successful 2021 sequel that explored the psychological toll of living with a secret, the third part promises to bring the saga to a definitive conclusion.

The trailer of the third chapter was released on May 9 and establishes that the man who has always managed to outsmart the police by being one step ahead, may find the going tough when a couple of determined investigative journalists attempt to crack open the case and expose the truth. Will Georgekutty be able to keep his family safe yet again, or will be crumble under the weight of his own guilt? That is what writer-director Jeethu Joseph explores in this chapter of the story.

This time around, Drishyam 3 is, reportedly, being dubbed in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada for simultaneous release, given that the Telugu version is unlikely to be made soon, owing to leading man Venkatesh’s busy schedule and the Tamil one didn’t even make it to a second film with Kamal Haasan. The Hindi version, starring Ajay Devgn in the lead, is following a different script and will be in theatres on October 2 this year.

Drishyam 3 also stars Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Asha Sharath, Murali Gopy, Siddique, Ganesh Kumar, Veena Nandakumar, Santhi Mayadevi, among others.
