Malayalam film, Dridam, will hit the big screen soon. The investigation thriller, starring Shane Nigam in the lead role, is slated to release in theatres on May 8. So far, no other Malayalam flicks have been scheduled to premiere on the same date. Shane plays a newbie cop named SI Vijay Radhakrishnan in this movie.

As Vijay has been posted in a Kuzhinilam police station, the trailer depicts him feeling relaxed to be in this peaceful hilly town; nonetheless, the tranquillity is fleeting. A murder case soon causes Vijay to encounter a multitude of difficulties within the system and in the region. He is continuously ridiculed for his incapacity by the higher-ranking officers. Overall, the trailer suggests a fascinating thriller that revolves around a hilly area and a team of police officers who are committed to both defending their professional reputations and apprehending the criminal.

Martin Joseph, who has previously assisted popular director Jeethu Joseph, is helming Dridam. Shobi Thilakan, Kottayam Ramesh, Sanya, Dinesh Prabhakar, and Krishna Prabha Nair also play significant roles in the film, which is presented by E4 Experiments and Jeethu Joseph (Bed Time Stories). Jomon John and Linto Devasia have penned the script for Dridam. The film's title wasn't revealed until August of last year, despite the fact that production started in the last week of April. A poster had stated that the movie will release in theatres in March 2026, but there weren't any updates from the makers.

Balti and Haal were Shane Nigam's two releases in 2025. The romance drama Haal is available on Manorama Max and the streaming rights to Balti have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video.
