The Malayalam film Chinna Chinna Aasai, starring Madhubala and Indrans in the lead roles, will be available online soon after a theatrical run of over four weeks. The film, which was backed by Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Film, will be streaming on JioHotstar from July 28. The audience responded favourably to the feel-good drama's sympathetic premise and performances during its theatrical run.

Varsha Vasudev is the director and screenwriter of Chinna Chinna Aasai. The background soundtrack and music for this film were composed by Govind Vasantha. The film's camera work was handled by Fayas Siddique, while the editor is Rakeson Joseph. Under the name Babuji Productions, Abhijit Babuji is producing the movie. Important roles in this movie are also played by Vishnu Agasthya, Aparna Balamurali, Thambi Ramaiah, Kaali Venkat, and Jafar Sadiq.


The movie centres on Leela, a woman hailing from Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu who becomes separated from her tour group while on a pilgrimage in the holy city of Varanasi. She meets Madhavan, a Malayali widower who is residing in Varanasi while his daughter attends Banaras Hindu University, as she is stranded and confused of what to do. The main focus of the movie is how the two develop a feeling of connection over the time of a single day.

Interestingly, Indrans' other recent Malayalam film, Aashaan, was also backed by Dulquer Salmaan's production company. Chinna Chinna Aasai released in theatres along with Chidambaram’s Balan: The Boy, which will be streaming on ZEE5 from July 31.
