Made in India - A Titan Story is based on the biography Titan - India's Most Successful Consumer Brand by Vinay Kamath. The story takes place in India before its liberalisation—a time of changing social and economic conditions, heavy bureaucracy, and manufacturing obstacles. The series chronicles Xerxes Desai's efforts to revitalise the struggling Tata Press business by prioritising domestic watch production. Early market scepticism, institutional failures, and major technological achievements, such as the creation of the ultra-thin Titan Edge watch and the commercial launch of sub-brands like Sonata, are detailed in the plot. Newly released footage shows the film focusing on heated bureaucratic wrangling and internal claims that the brand would be more than just a watch—it would be a national identity.
The main strength of the businessman JRD Tata, according to Shah's portrayal of him, was his ability to cultivate human potential through institutional trust and his quiet confidence. The veteran actor noted that the show deviates from traditional brand histories by centring on the importance of executive bravery in sustaining an unproven business concept amid times of extreme market uncertainty and personal conviction.
According to Sarbh, who plays Xerxes Desai, the business magnate was someone who broke with tradition to bring new types of products to the Indian market. According to the actor, the script's fundamental themes are personal tenacity, gut feelings, and long-term strategic support. He emphasised that the show presents both the overall economic impact of the company and the personal struggles of the original execution crew.
Free streaming of all six episodes will begin on June 3, 2026.
