Drishyam 3, the third and presumably last chapter in director-writer Jeethu Joseph’s Mohanlal-led franchise will be in theatres on May 21, 2026. The film will release in its original Malayalam version, as well dubbed ones in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada. The Hindi version, though, is being remade with Ajay Devgn and certain changes to the narrative, in keeping with sensibilities of their audience, and will release later this year on October 2, 2026.

The film is likely not being remade in any other south language, what with Venkatesh’s schedule not allowing a Telugu version, while Kamal Haasan had not returned for the second film itself in Tamil. Ravichandran has done two films in Kannada, with the second getting a fairly successful theatrical run, even though the original came directly on OTT.

Ahead of Drishyam 3’s theatrical release, the makers faced legal hurdles regarding its digital streaming rights. Amazon Prime Video contended that it held the rights for any future instalments in the franchise since 2020, while the production house tried pushing for better business with other platforms. It has now been ruled in favour of the streamer. The buzz is that the film will begin streaming after the theatrical run, at least 4 weeks later, indicating a late June or early July outing.

However, there are scattered whispers that the OTT outing may be delayed in favour of the Hindi version’s theatrical outing. Drishyam 3 also stars Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Asha Sharath, Siddique, Murali Gopy, Ganesh Kumar, among others.
