Valavaara, a simple slice-of-life drama about a young boy’s desperate attempts to locate the family’s missing cow and bring it back home before his dad finds out, is coming to OTT. The film, by debutant director Sutan Gowda, hit theatres in January, 2026 and has now found a streaming partner. Earlier this week, the team had announced that Zee5 had picked up the streaming rights and now, they’ve announced a date as well. Valavaara will be available on the platform from June 5, 2026.

| Streaming platform | Zee5 |
| Streaming date | June 5, 2026 |
Interestingly, this is also the date on which the platform has multiple other big-ticket releases out. For starters, there is the Kannada film KD The Devil, starring Dhruva Sarja in the lead, followed by the Malayalam film Patriot, which has Mammootty and Mohanlal on the cast. These theatricals will begin streaming on June 5. Then, there’s Karisma Kapoor’s Hindi investigative web series Brown that premieres on the same day. Valavaara joins this list.
Valavaara’s story revolves around two young boys, Kundesi (Vedic Kaushal) and Kosudi (Shayan), the kids of an impoverished farmer (Malathesh HV), whose innocent stroll to take the family cow out to a pasture takes a bad turn when the bovine goes missing. Kundesi, who is not his father’s favourite and often faces the brunt of his old man’s ire, sets out to bring the cow back before things turn bad for him back home.
The film’s biggest strength are the heartfelt performances by Vedic, Malathesh, Shayan Harshitha Gowda (the mother) and Abhay. And even though the leads are two boys, Valavaara is far from a children’s movie. It’s an emotional and engaging slice-of-life film that makes for a good weekend watch.
