Ted Lasso’s (Jason Sudeiki) return to Kansas to be with his son Henry, at the end of season 3 was meant to be the end of one of Apple TV+’s most popular shows. But then, not long after the finale, in which Ted left AFC Richmond with coach Beard (Brendan Hunt) and former player-turned-manager Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein), it was announced that they would regroup for another season. This was, in a way, hinted at when Juno Temple’s character Keeley pitches the idea of a women’s team.
This time around, Ted would be back to coach a second-division women’s football team at Richmond. Apple TV on April 28, 2026, announced the streaming premiere of the new season with a teaser, featuring most of the show’s retuning cast members, including Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple, among others. The first of the 10-episode season will drop on the platform on August 5, 2026.

Ted Lasso was about an American college football coach who is hired by an English soccer team, what with the owner, Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham), who inherited the club in a divorce settlement, hoping that his inexperience would lead it to failure. This, she’d hoped, would be her revenge on her ex, but then Ted manages to lead them to unexpected success.
