Director Deviprasad Shetty’s third film, Second Case of Seetharam, which is the sequel to his debut Seetharam Benoy: Case No 18, is OTT bound. The film, which was presented in theatres by filmmaker Pavan Wadeyar and released in Kannada, and subsequently in Tamil too, had a better reception with the latter version.

The film is now set for its OTT outing, with Amazon Prime Video, which is also home to the original, Seetharam Benoy: Case No 18, and Deviprasad’s second film, Case of Kondana, also starring Vijay Raghavendra. Prime Video will make Second Case of Seetharam available from April 17, 2026 with Kannada and Tamil audio options.
Second Case of Seetharam, which also stars Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Usha Bhandary, follows Vijay as Inspector Seetharam, as he investigates a spate of murders in his jurisdiction. Each victim is subjected to immense torture before they are eventually killed and while Seetharam figures there’s a pattern to it, he doesn’t quite connect the dots, ending up with the wrong suspect not once, but twice. This, of course, does not sit well with his superiors, who want him to close the case as soon as possible.
Can Seetharam nab the killer before more lives are lost? That is the crux of the film. Deviprasad’s thriller was hailed as a marked improvement on the original, despite its very apparent budgetary and executionary limitations. It’s a decent murder mystery, presented in a tight 2-hour narrative. It works as a stand-alone film and does not really tie in with events from the original.
