In late March, there were murmurs that Telugu superstar Ram Charan’s much-awaited next, Peddi, would not make its April 30, 2026 date with audiences. The buzz was that the film, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, is being pushed to June, citing delays in completion of VFX work. This despite the fact that the team had released a Pehelwan glimpse of Ram Charan on the occasion of his birthday, which ended with the promise of a Ram Navami release on April 30.

When will Ram Charan's Peddi be in theatres?

But then, on April 15, the team of Peddi officially confirmed the postponement. In a social media post, Vriddhi Cinemas stated that the talkie portions of the film had been completed and that one song was pending to be shot. The team is happy with the edit and remains committed to the pursuit of the best output possible, for which, they believe the technical crew needs more time. Peddi, in which Ram Charan plays a wrestler, also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Shivarajkumar, Jagapati Babu, Boman Irani, among others.

The decision is to push the release of Peddi to June this year, with industry speculation rife that Ram Charan’s film will take up the first weekend (June 4), which is currently booked for Rocking Star Yash’s Toxic. There’s been no indication of a potential postponement for Toxic, given that it is already on its third announced date. The team, though, is yet to revive promotional activities. Reports suggest that Peddi will either clash with or replace Toxic on June 4. The second week of June is when Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has been fixed for, at the moment.

The postponement of Peddi, as well as that of Dhruva Sarja’s KD The Devil, both of which were targeting pan-India releases, comes as a good sign for the Malayalam film Patriot. The Mahesh Narayan directed spy thriller stars Mammootty, Mohanlal, Darshana Rajendran, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, among others, and will be in theatres on May 1, 2026.
