Telugu star Nani’s next production venture under his Wall Poster Cinema banner is Dhandoraa director Muralikanth Devasoth’s untitled next, which is likely to go on floors in August this year. The team had been on the lookout for the lead actors and, according to reports, Kantara Chapter 1 fame Rukmini Vasanth, who will soon be seen in Jr NTR’s Dragon, has been signed up as the heroine. The search for the leading man continues.

Following the success of the Kannada film Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A and Side B, which was well received in its Telugu-dubbed version as well, Rukmini was signed up for her Tollywood debut, Appudo Ippudo Eppudo, opposite Nikhil Siddhartha. The film was a box office disaster. After a couple of mediocre Tamil releases, the Kannada film Kantara Chapter 1 gave her career a filip again, following which she was signed up for Rocking Star Yash’s much-awaited Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown Ups and then Dragon.

The team of Muralikanth’s film are yet to make an official announcement about Rukmini’s casting and the actress is known to remain tight-lipped about her involvement in any project without clearance from the team. It is expected that further details will be officially made available once the leading man has been finalised.

Muralikanth’s Dhandoraa was a a highly acclaimed drama and anti-caste satire that explored deeply entrenched caste hierarchies and the rigid traditions that govern love, dignity, and even funeral rites in rural Telangana.
