Dulquer Salmaan is returning to Tollywood with his next film, earlier called DQ41, the title of which has now been revealed to be Sri Sri, with the tagline "Love That Sparks Again". The first-look poster featuring Dulquer and Pooja was unveiled this week.
The poster shows the duo in college uniforms, hinting at a youthful romantic entertainer. Directed by debutant Ravi Nelakuditi, the film also stars Ramya Krishnan, Jagapathi Babu and Dheekshith Shetty. A major schedule has already been completed recently. Produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri and scored by G.V. Prakash Kumar, "Sri Sri" is set to release later this year in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi.
Although the makers have kept the story under wraps, industry reports indicate that the movie will blend romance with commercial entertainment. Rather than being a conventional love story, the film is expected to feature emotional drama, humour and music, making it appealing to a wider audience.
Dulquer returns to romance
Known for romantic hits like OK Kanmani, Charlie, 100 Days of Love and Sita Ramam, Dulquer is expected to return to the genre after a run of action and crime dramas. Dulquer has a strong fan base in Telugu cinema, with "Mahanati", "Sita Ramam" and "Lucky Baskhar" boosting his popularity. Dulquer-Pooja pairing has already sparked curiosity, with reports suggesting a mix of romance, humour, emotions and commercial elements.
Apart from Sri Sri, Dulquer will next be seen in the Malayalam action entertainer I'm Game and the Telugu film Aakasamlo Oka Tara.
