Within a month of its theatrical release, Prathichaya is going to make its OTT debut due to conflicting audience reactions. While some praised the film's lead characters for their solid performances, others described it as a mediocre movie with political thriller clichés. It's interesting to note that in addition to Malayalam, Nivin Pauly's web series Pharma and his most recent film Sarvam Maya are also available for streaming on the same site. The availability of Prathichaya in other South Indian languages is unclear.
The story centres on the chief minister of Kerala who becomes caught up in a scandal brought on by a corporate tie. John Varghese, his son, decides to look into the situation and find the truth behind the charges as the crisis worsens and his father's reputation suffers. His attempts to negotiate the complex power conflicts of politics form the crux of the movie.
The supporting cast of Prathichaya includes Harisree Ashokan, Maniyanpilla Raju, Ann Augustine, Neethu Krishna, Sabitha Anand, and Vishnu Agasthya. Justin Varghese has composed the music for Prathichaya, which has a screenplay penned by the director himself. Baiju Gopalan and V C Praveen are co-producers of this movie, which is financially backed by Gokulam Gopalan under the banners of Sree Gokulam Movies and Rd Illuminations LLP.
