A small-town middle-class boy’s rise to establishing an underworld empire, set against the marijuana trade in Mysuru in the early 2000s. This, more or less, sums up the plot of Mango Pachcha, debutant director Viveka’s much-awaited launchpad for Jr Kiccha, Sanchith Sanjeev. The film, which was postponed from its earlier Sankranti release plan, will be in theatres on June 5, after the young actor’s uncle and superstar Kiccha Sudeep did some last-minute tinkering with it.

Ahead of the film’s theatrical release, the trailer was launched, which introduces audiences to Prashant aka Pachcha, his modest roots, family, love interest, gang and the opposition he faced in establishing his empire. The team describes Mango Pachcha as a story filled with emotions, chaos, family, politics and rebellion.

Led by Sanchith, the cast also includes Kajal Kunder, Prashanth Hiremath, Mayur Patel, Jai, Harini Shreekanth, Hamsa Narayanaswamy, Ugramm Manju, among others. Music is by Charanraj, while cinematography duties have been handled by Shekar Chandra and Swami. The film is a joint production between Sudeep’s new banner Supriyanvi (led by his wife Priya Sudeep), and KRG Studios.

The trailer, meanwhile, has garnered Sanchith a lot of praise, with fans eagerly awaiting the release of the film and the birth of a new star in Kannada cinema. Sanchith capitalizes on his physical and body language similarities with his famous uncle and already has a fan following for his ‘swag’. The actor, no doubt, has great screen presence and looks promising in the trailer, but what will matter, in the end, is what he brings to the table.

Mango Pachcha has its task cut out at the box office, what with Ram Charan's Peddi, which also stars Century Star Shivarajkumar, being the 'big-ticket' release of the week. Also in theatres that week are Premalu actor Naslen's Mollywood Times, Anurag Kashyap's Bandar, which has Raj B Shetty in a pivotal role, as well as the live-action He-Man movie.
