Sanchith Sanjeev, the nephew of Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep, was meant to have his acting debut earlier this year with Mango Pachcha, which had been announced as a Sankranti outing. However, the team cited delays in post-production and pushed the release ahead. At the time, sources from the team had said that the film directed by newcomer Viveka would release sometime in February, but that didn’t happen either. Then came reports that they were redoing parts of the film and that Sudeep, who is co-producing Mango Pachcha, stepped in to handle those portions.
The reshoots were completed recently and the film, we hear, is now ready for release. There is a strong buzz that the team is looking at bringing Mango Pachcha to theatres in late May, with a source indicating that May 29, 2026 is a likely date. In the current scheme of things, this seems unlikely, as Rocking Star Yash’s much-awaited Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown Ups is slated for June 4, 2026. But there is a buzz that is getting increasingly louder of a possible postponement for Toxic yet again. The other possibility is that the team may fancy a chance of making a mark despite the clash.
Sanchith Sanjeev in Mango Pachcha
Sanchith, who made his directorial debut with Ambi Ning Vayassayatho, which he co-directed with Gurudutta Ganiga, had announced his solo film, Jimmy, a couple of years ago. He was meant to direct and act in the film, but it was later decided that given the scale of the project, he ought to cut his teeth with another film or two before plunging neck-deep into his own directorial venture.
Sanchith is paired with Kajal Kunder in Mango Pachcha, which is said to be a gangster film set in Mysuru of the early 2000s. The story, reportedly, unfolds over a decade.
