The much-awaited trailer of the Malayalam film Karakkam was launched at a grand event held at PVR Forum Mall, Kochi, and premiered through Mammootty Kampany’s official social media handles recently. Earlier, the film’s teaser was unveiled by Mohanlal through his official social media handles, drawing widespread attention from the audience for its genre. Karakkam is all set for its worldwide theatrical release on May 28.

Karakkam offers a distinctive fusion of supernatural elements, adventure, humour, music, and horror. The teaser introduces viewers to a group of youngsters whose lives descend into chaos following an unplanned encounter with enigmatic spirits, showcasing the film's scary yet amusing world. The trailer provides a glimpse into a world where laughter and fear coexist, set against a backdrop of intrigue, mystery, and musical moments. The story seeks to provide viewers with a comprehensive entertainment experience while redefining the horror-comedy genre in Malayalam cinema.
The film is directed by Subhash Lalitha Subrahmanian and bankrolled by Ankush Singh and Kimberly Trinidade under the banners of Krownstars Entertainment and Black Turtle Productions. Subhash is known for helming Charles Enterprises. The cast features Sreenath Bhasi, Femina George, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Sidharth Bharathan, Shaun Romy, Bijukuttan, Manikandan R Achari and Midhutty, among others, in prominent roles.
Music for the film, including both the songs and background score, is composed by Sam C S. The screenplay is jointly written by Nipin Narayanan, Subhash Lalitha Subrahmanian and Arjun Narayanan, based on a story by Dhanush Varghese. Bablu Aju serves as the cinematographer, while Nithin Arol handles editing.
