Fire and Ash picks up shortly after the events of The Way of Water. Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) are still grappling with the tragic loss of their eldest son, Neteyam, while trying to lead the Metkayina clan. However, their peace is short-lived as they encounter a new, more aggressive Na’vi tribe: The Mangkwan, also known as the Ash People.
Led by the formidable Varang (Oona Chaplin), this tribe represents a darker side of Na’vi culture. Unlike the forest or reef clans, the Ash People are nomadic, volcanic-dwelling warriors who have a more cynical view of the world. This encounter forces Jake and Neytiri to realize that not all Na’vi share their values, escalating the conflict on Pandora to a global scale.
The digital release is expected to include bonus content, like behind-the-scenes featurettes detailing the creation of the Ash People and the film's fire physics. Fire and Ash is the third in a proposed five film franchise, the fourth of which is currently in production and slated for theatrical release in 2029.
