In a recent interview with The Cinema Post, actor Deepak Parambol looked back on his 16-year journey in Mollywood. Known for his performances in acclaimed films like Thattathin Marayathu, Kannur Squad, and Thira, the actor reflected on his career and highlighted a major milestone—collaborating with ace filmmaker Shaji Kailas.
"Existence is a challenge in the film industry, regardless of language. Due to the popularity of social media influencers among the general public, there is now more room for actors. As a result, it's difficult to survive in an era where filmmakers have a lot of options for whom to cast in their film," he stated.

Deepak acknowledged that longevity alone doesn't guarantee future roles. According to him, staying relevant and maintaining audience appeal are just as crucial as acting ability — a connection he feels was strengthened by his roles in Manjummel Boys and Thattathin Marayathu. On a lighter note, he shared that his wife, actress Aparna Das, recently convinced him to do a photoshoot to keep his social media profiles updated. The Ponman star admitted that he often misses out on current industry trends — like attending movie premieres and promotional events —which many use to boost their visibility and stay relevant.
Discussing his role in Shaji Kailas' recent film, Varavu, Deepak shared that he has been a fan of the director since childhood, fondly recalling watching the 2000 hit Narasimham in theatres and being mesmerised by Mohanlal’s iconic entry scene. Working with the veteran filmmaker felt like a dream come true—made even sweeter by the fact that his very first shot on set was a slow-motion entrance. Deepak revealed he accepted the role immediately and expressed a similar desire to collaborate with masters like Joshiy and Sathyan Anthikad, whose films inspired him to pursue acting in the first place.
