Director Buchi Babu Sana has responded to the ongoing criticism surrounding certain scenes featuring Janhvi Kapoor in Peddi, acknowledging the audience’s reaction and offering clarification on his creative intent. The Uppena director admitted that he did not anticipate the strong negative response to the way Janhvi Kapoor’s character was presented in a few sequences that some viewers perceived as overly cheesy and objectifying.

According to Buchi Babu Sana, the original idea behind the portrayal was to depict a playful and light-hearted romantic dynamic between Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor. He explained that the intention was to build a charming on-screen chemistry that fits within the film’s larger commercial and emotional framework.

However, the director noted that audience interpretation has differed significantly from what he had envisioned during the making of the film. While the team aimed for a vibrant and mass-friendly romantic track, sections of the audience felt the presentation crossed certain boundaries, leading to debate on social media.
