Joju George has announced his next Malayalam directorial, Paripadi, today. Following the enormous success of Malayalam films like 2018, Rekhachitram and Aadu 3, Venu Kunnappilly is financially supporting this film under the banner of Kavya Film Company. The film’s title was revealed at a puja ceremony held in Kochi recently.
The movie is being produced on a big budget and features about 100 newcomers. The audience have high expectations for Paripadi, Joju's second picture following the 2024 action drama, Pani. The movie will be filmed in and around Kerala as well as in a number of locations in Europe. The camera work will be done by renowned cinematographer Rajeev Ravi. Anbariv Masters will be choreographing Paripadi's action scenes, which is another highlight that raises anticipation for it.
This film, which will have a theatrical release in five languages—Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada—will mark the debut of Tamil music director Yuvan Shankar Raja in Malayalam. Manu Antony is in charge of Paripadi's editing, while Ajayan P. Attat is helming the sound design.
Pani, which debuted in theatres in 2024 and brought in a significant amount at the box office, marking Joju's directorial debut. Sony LIV is streaming the action thriller, which also stars Sagar Surya, Junaiz V P, Abhinaya, and Seema. The story revolves around a married couple whose life is abruptly interrupted by two young people with criminal backgrounds. Rumour has claimed that Pani would have a sequel, and the actor-director was supposed to provide an update shortly.
