The unusual predicament forces the gangster to confront circumstances beyond his control. As the story unfolds, an unexpected bond develops between the two, bringing humour and emotional depth to the narrative.

Rather than relying solely on conventional gangster-film tropes, the film explores the more vulnerable side of its central character through his interactions with the young boy.

Apart from Vijay Sethupathi in the titular role, the film features Malayalam actress Lijomol Jose in a key role. Balaji Tharaneetharan has written and directed the film, marking his third collaboration with Vijay Sethupathi after "Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom" and "Seethakaathi".

Sai Abhyankkar has composed the music, while filmmaker Atlee presents the project. A for Apple Studios, Cine1 Studios and Star Studio18 are associated with its production.

With its distinctive storyline and positive reception during its theatrical run, "Baththa" is poised to reach a wider audience through its upcoming OTT release.
