Malayalam actor Naslen is set to explore a darker side of his acting prowess in Suriya’s upcoming Tamil film Scene. The makers have unveiled a new character introduction video featuring the actor as Eeswaran, a seemingly cold-blooded and ruthless individual, raising curiosity about his role in the Jithu Madhavan directorial.
The newly released glimpse presents Eeswaran as a character seemingly devoid of emotion and compassion. His unsettling demeanour has fuelled speculation that Naslen could be portraying a psychopathic antagonist in the film. The character marks a potentially significant departure from the youthful and relatable roles that have contributed to the actor’s growing popularity in Malayalam cinema.
Suriya as an unconventional cop
Titled Scene, the film stars Suriya as Deputy Superintendent of Police Inbaraj, an unconventional police officer whose methods appear to set him apart from his colleagues. The film’s earlier glimpse hinted at a mix of action, dark humour and an eccentric cop character, offering a glimpse into Jithu Madhavan’s distinctive storytelling approach.
Naslen’s casting is among the intriguing aspects of the project, which brings together prominent talents from Malayalam and Tamil cinema. The actor, who earned widespread recognition through films such as Premalu and Alappuzha Gymkhana, will be making his Tamil debut with Scene. Nazriya Nazim plays the female lead, marking her first collaboration with Suriya. The supporting cast includes Anandraj, Lal, John Vijay and Raj Priyan.
Written and directed by Jithu Madhavan, the film marks the Malayalam filmmaker’s debut in Tamil cinema following the success of Romancham and Aavesham. His collaboration with Suriya has generated considerable interest, particularly with the actor appearing in an unconventional police avatar.
The film also features music by Sushin Shyam, marking another significant Tamil cinema venture for the composer. Scene is produced by Suriya and Jyothika, along with Jaishree Damodaran, under the banners of 2D Entertainment and Zhagaram Studios.
Scene is scheduled to arrive in theatres worldwide on November 6, 2026, as a Diwali release. With Suriya’s unusual cop character and Naslen’s menacing transformation emerging as major talking points, the film is shaping up to be one of the notable Tamil releases of the festive season.
