Advance bookings for Rajinikanth's much-awaited action entertainer Jailer 2 are now open, with the film recording encouraging pre-release sales in overseas markets ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on October 15.
The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial has reportedly crossed Rs 11 crore in overseas advance bookings, while domestic ticket sales are also gaining momentum.
Jailer 2: Strong overseas bookings
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Jailer 2 had recorded domestic advance bookings worth approximately Rs 75.67 lakh, including blocked seats, as of 10:47 AM on October 10. The tracker reported sales of more than 44,000 tickets across 364 shows at 64 cinemas in 27 cities. These figures are preliminary trade estimates and are subject to revision.
The overseas market has provided a strong early indicator of interest in the sequel. According to reports, international advance sales have crossed Rs 11 crore, with the United States emerging as a major contributor, followed by markets such as the UAE and the United Kingdom. These overseas pre-sales include tickets sold for premiere screenings and opening-day shows.
Meanwhile, advance bookings in Kerala are scheduled to open on Sunday, October 11, at 10 AM. The film is set to arrive in Kerala theatres with 6 AM first shows on October 15, with Sree Gokulam Movies handling distribution and Dream Big Films serving as its distribution partner. Bookings in Karnataka, where the film is expected to open with hiked ticket rates and dynamic pricing, is also set to open on October 11, 2026.

Jailer 2 brings back Rajinikanth as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, following the commercial success of the 2023 blockbuster Jailer. The sequel features Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, S. J. Suryah, Vidya Balan and Jackie Shroff, among others. With the release date approaching, trade observers will be closely tracking the growth in advance bookings across domestic and overseas markets.
The film's opening-day performance will be a key indicator of whether the sequel can match the massive commercial expectations generated by its predecessor.
