It’s a Medical Miracle Review – Shyamin Gireesh’s latest film intertwines the origin of an everyday man who gains superpowers after a tragic accident with the rise of a villain shaped by society's cruelty. Despite its predictable tropes, the movie manages to deliver a passable viewing experience.
After surviving a severe road accident, Ruben spends two years in a coma, sustained only by the comforting voice of a caring nurse. A sudden incident on her part miraculously revives him, leaving him with hyper-sensitive hearing that far exceeds human limits. However, his paths cross a dreadful masked man — already hunted by the police —who begins targeting Ruben's loved ones. Armed with his extraordinary sense of hearing, Ruben sets out to expose the villain's identity and exact revenge for the devastation brought upon his life.
Predictable characters weaken the film's intrigue, though the director wisely avoids forced humour that would have further diluted the drama. The narrative splits structurally: the first half focuses on the protagonist adapting to his newfound powers, while the second half drastically escalates the masked villain's cruelty. However, this sudden surge in brutality feels jarring, coming across as a forced attempt to manufacture a menace the first half failed to establish.
Sangeeth Prathap in It's A Medical Miracle
Rather than flaunting Sangeeth Prathap’s comedic talents, the script focuses on his dramatic range, proving his ability to anchor the film as a leading man. He delivers a believable performance as Ruben—an unassuming, ordinary youth who lacks typical heroic bravado, yet finds himself thrust into extraordinary circumstances with a power he never asked for.
Sharaf U Dheen shines as CPO Suraj, bringing convincing depth to a character burdened by the cliché of a society-driven villain out for revenge. His grounded performance successfully tones down the predictable writing. Meanwhile, Akhila Bhargavan delivers a delightful performance as the compassionate nurse and Ruben’s love interest. While Nileen Sandra’s screenplay sets up an engaging premise, it ultimately falls back on a conventional good-versus-evil climax. Elevating the experience, Mujeeb Majeed’s score complements the story, while the film's sound design plays a crucial role in driving the narrative.
It’s a Medical Miracle Verdict – While relying on familiar good-versus-evil tropes, this Sangeeth Prathap and Sharaf U Dheen starrer remains an 'okayish' one-time watch for the fans of this genre.
