Jailer 2, the much awaited sequel to Super Star Rajinikanth's hit film Jailer, has a release date. The film, which was earlier expected to hit theatres for Independence day, has zeroed in on October 15 instead. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 will be one of the many Dasara 2026 releases.
The announcement was accompanied by a powerful new teaser that has further heightened excitement among fans. The teaser opens with striking glimpses of Rajinikanth and marks the return of Vinayakan as the ruthless Varman, the formidable antagonist from the first installment. Clash with Dhanush's “OM”
The highly anticipated Tamil film “OM: Chapter 1” (Udhiram - The Blood Wood) starring Dhanush and Mammootty is scheduled to release in theaters on October 16, 2026. Directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, the action drama will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
It looks like there would be a clash between Rajinikanth starrer and Dhanush’s movie if both go forward with the same release date. Interestingly Malayalam superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty are playing key roles in “Jailer 2” and “OM” respectively.
