Pradeep Ranganathan, who rose to fame as an actor and director, is about to make his debut as a producer with an upcoming Tamil film. The announcement video for this female-focused tentatively titled movie PRS01, which stars Mamita Baiju, was released today (July 6). Bankrolled by Pradeep Ranganathan under the banner of PR Show, the movie, marks the directorial debut of The Alpha Unit, a team of six assistant directors who have previously worked with Pradeep.
The promo video shows Mamitha in a never-seen-before avatar yielding a knife, hinting at an action thriller in the making. Ashwath Marimuthu, Sivaji Sontineni, Swasika, Anamika Mahi, Lissy Antony and numerous more well-known actors have significant roles in this movie, confirmed the makers. The producer wrote the screenplay for the movie. Sai Abhayankar will be composing the music for this film while Dinesh Kumar Purushothaman is the cinematographer.
Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam versions of this film are being made concurrently. The audience has already shown a great deal of interest in the movie's launch video on social media. Additionally, it is the second time that Ashwath Marimuthu and Pradeep Ranganathan have collaborated following the huge success of Dragon; the latter had collaborated with Mamitha on the 2025 hit film Dude.
Alongside Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju plays a significant role in Vijay's Jananayakan. She is also starring in Suriya's upcoming film with Venky Atluri, Viswanath and Sons. The young actress will also star alongside Sangeeth Prathap in Ashiq Usman's upcoming romantic comedy film and Nivin Pauly’s Onam release, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit.
