The Kannada film JC The University, produced by actor-producer Daali Dhananjaya, was is banner’s first release of 2026. The film, directed by debutant Chetan Jayaram, hit theatres in early February and receiving average reviews at the time. Now, over two months later, it is finally making its way to OTT. JC The University has been picked up by Sun NXT and will begin streaming on the platform on April 24, 2026.

An action drama, JC The University had Surya Prakhyath (of Naduve Antaravirali fame) in the lead, while Ramesh Indira, Rangayana Raghu, Thriller Manju, Bhavana Reddy, Vijay Simha, among others, were a part of the primary cast. In the film, Surya played Madhusudhan aka Maddy, a young collegian, leading an ideal life, with his parents and a girlfriend to boot. But then, something happens and the youngster lands in jail, with his stint behind bars serving as a university of sorts about life in Bengaluru’s underworld.
JC The University was the first film from Daali Pictures that did not star Dhananjaya or any of his close buddies, like Nagabhushana or Poorna Mysore, for instance. The banner was launched with Badava Rascal, starring Dhananjaya, which was followed up with Head Bush, also with the actor. The next two, Tagaru Palya and Vidyapati had Nagabhushana in the lead, while the next, Mother Promise, marks Poorna’s directorial debut.
Incidentally, Dhananjaya has two OTT releases on April 24. His banner’s maiden web series, Jerax, will premiere on Zee5. The show, written and directed by Srinidhi Bengaluru, who made the critically-acclaimed film Blink earlier, has Nagabhushana in the lead.
