The Kannada film KD: The Devil, directed by Prem and starring Action Prince Dhruva Sarja in the lead is heading to theatres on April 30, 2026 after all. After days of uncertainty surrounding the film’s theatrical outing, following issues with censor certification, KVN Productions, the banner that’s produced the film seems to have cleared all road blocks. Earlier today, the production house announced that the trailer of KD: The Devil would drop on April 22, 2026, ahead of the film’s April 30 release.

The trailer announcement, though, did not specify the exact time as to when it will drop. The fact that the film is back on track for its April 30 release ends speculation that it was being subjected to unwarranted scrutiny by the censor board, given that the production house is already involved in a tussle over its Tamil film Jana Nayagan. A few days ago, it was reported that KD had been censored and given an A certification, owing to the graphic violence in it, but was then referred to the revision committee in Mumbai.

Today’s trailer announcement indicates that whatever issues the team faced have been ironed out. KD: The Devil, meanwhile, is Dhruva Sarja’s 6th theatrical release and is his first since Martin, which was ripped apart by critics across the country. The subsequent take down of several digital reviews was also panned, so it remains to be seen how they now react to KD, given that it is also poised for a pan-India release.

A period gangster film, KD also stars Sanjay Dutt, Reeshma Nanaiah, Ramesh Aravind, V Ravichandran, Shilpa Shetty, among others, with Kiccha Sudeep also chipping in with a pivotal cameo.
