The makers of the much-awaited Malayalam film, Balan The Boy, have confirmed that its digital rights have been sold to a popular streaming platform. The film will be streaming on ZEE5 following its theatrical run. Balan has been slated to release in theatres on June 19. Directed by Chidambaram and written by Jithu Madhavan, the film is jointly produced by KVN Productions & Thespian Films.
Balan The Boy is centred on themes of identity, survival, and the enduring love between a mother and her kid, all supported by an engaging narrative and a powerful creative vision. Although the cast has not yet been disclosed by the makers, there is a great deal of excitement surrounding the film's premiere, with many anticipating that the director will bring another smash to Mollywood, similar to his previous movie, Manjummel Boys.
The film was introduced to the international audience on May 14 during the Marché du Film at the Cannes Film Festival, where it received praise. "Balan The Boy is a film about what we bear without knowing, the gravity of where we come from, and the hunger to find where we belong," director Chidambaram said with regard to the movie being shown to the audience at Cannes. I created this movie for folks who have experienced both of those things profoundly but have never been able to articulate them, he added.
"Balan The Boy is not just a film; it is a statement. The kind that brings back memories of your initial motivation for entering this line of work," said Venkat K. Narayana of KVN Productions.
