Popular editor Kiran Das has helmed the movie, which is financed under the banners of T Series and Panorama Studios. In supporting roles in Unmadham are Siddique, Krishna Prabha, Vishak Nair, Sudheesh, Raina Radhakrishnan and Kottayam Nazeer. The songs for the movie were composed by Mujeeb Majeed and Justin Varghese. On July 31, it opened in theatres to a mixed reception from both critics and viewers.

The Cinema Post review claims that although the first half establishes an intriguing idea and creates suspenseful tension, the second half falters as it tries to strike a balance between the investigation and Shelly's psychological collapse. This results in a predictable conclusion that falls short of the film's impressive introduction buildup.
