Soori’s Mandaadi is set to make its OTT debut on Netflix on October 8, following a successful theatrical run in which the film grossed over ₹150 crores gross collection worldwide.

The milestone is a significant one for Soori, further strengthening his position as a bankable lead in the Tamil theatrical market. "Mandaadi" has managed to find a sizeable audience despite being built around an unconventional sporting backdrop — a boat race held at sea.

Soori plays Kali, a former sailboat player who leaves his village for Chennai. He eventually returns to his hometown, where a much-awaited boat race is set to take place. Kali has a mission to accomplish, and whether he succeeds forms the central conflict of the film.
