Antony Varghese Pepe’s recent action thriller, Kattalan, is finally set to make its OTT debut soon. It has been confirmed that Manorama Max has acquired the digital rights of the movie and will be streaming it soon. If so, the film is also likely to be available on Amazon Prime Video based on current trends. The film's poor theatrical performance in May this year has likely contributed to the delay in its online release.
Power-hungry factions struggle in the Ivory cartel, which becomes into a bloody tale of survival, vengeance, and dominance where only the vicious survive forms the crux of the film. Paul George made his directorial debut with the movie. Despite being one of the most anticipated films of 2026, Kattalan's theatrical run lasted fewer than three weeks because it didn't live up to expectations among Pepe's fans as well as action film enthusiasts.

Important roles in this film are played by Dushara Vijayan, Jagadish, Siddique, Baby Jean, Hipzster, Shibin S Raghav, Raj Tirandasu, and Shon Joy. In this thriller, Telugu actor Sunil and Marco star Kabir Duhan Singh also played supporting parts. Hanan Shah, a well-known backing singer, made his acting debut in this movie.
The film was funded by Shareef Muhammad, who previously supported Unni Mukundan's action thriller Marco, which is accessible to watch on Sony LIV. Prior to its theatrical premiere, Kattalan's producers reportedly signed one of the biggest international contracts in Malayalam film history. The film was simultaneously released in theatres in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada in addition to Malayalam.
