The third instalment in the Hindi version of the popular thriller franchise Drishyam, Drishyam: The Concludion, starring Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran in the lead, released in theatres on October 2. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film has opened to largely positive reviews, with audiences opining that the makers stuck the landing much better than the Malayalam original which came out months ago.
The film, meanwhile, hit theatres with an OTT streaming deal firmly in place. Drishyam: The Conclusion will have its OTT premiere on Netflix after completing its theatrical run. The film’s Netflix association was revealed through the credits screened during its theatrical release, confirming the streaming platform as its post-theatrical destination. It will likely drop on the platform after the mandatory 8-week time frame.
The third instalment of the Hindi Drishyam franchise features a strong supporting cast, with Rajat Kapoor and Tabu playing major roles. Prakash Raj appears as a senior advocate, while Jaideep Ahlawat plays a police officer in the thriller.
Drishyam: The Conclusion had generated considerable curiosity even before its release, particularly because the makers had announced that the Hindi version would follow a different storyline from the Malayalam third instalment directed by Jeethu Joseph and starring Mohanlal.
Another major talking point surrounding the film was the exit of Akshaye Khanna, who played a pivotal police officer in the second instalment. The actor reportedly walked out of the third part following issues related to his remuneration.
Despite the considerable expectations surrounding the franchise, Drishyam: The Conclusion has emerged as an average thriller, with the film receiving a mixed-to-positive response following its release. The film has nevertheless managed to attract attention among audiences, particularly in Kerala.

Interestingly, a section of the Malayali audience has been welcoming the Hindi version's approach, especially after the response to the Malayalam third instalment was underwhelming among many viewers.
The decision to tell a different story has therefore become one of the key talking points surrounding the Hindi film.
