Malayalam’s latest film, Dhoomakethu, made its theatrical debut today (September 25). Meanwhile, the makers have confirmed that a leading streaming platform has acquired its digital rights ahead of its big-screen release. Here’s where to watch the movie, which stars Sajin Gopu, Nikhila Vimal and Ganapathi, online post theatrical run.
After acquiring the online rights to Dhoomakethu, Netflix will likely begin streaming the movie by the end of October after a 30-day window. Only a few Malayalam films, such as Pennum Porattum and Bharathanatyam 2 Mohiniyattam, made it to Netflix this year. This platform hasn't been buying many Malayalam films lately.

The protagonist of Dhoomakethu is Kuttan, whose wedding day becomes a continuous nightmare when a dream about his own murder comes true. He can no longer tell the difference between reality and dreams because he is stuck in a loop where every possible event results in his deadly meeting with a bunch of masked strangers. Before the pattern of events takes him away once more, he must discover the truth about his killers in order to live the day. Finding out who wants Kuttan dead and why he has become their target is the main focus of the movie.
Sonny and Manu Madhusudhanan co-wrote the screenplay for this film, which has been directed by Sudhi Maddison. Neymar, starring Mathew Thomas and Naslen, marked Sudhi's directorial debut. Shine Tom Chacko, Siddharth Bharathan, and Manju Pillai are the other actors in the movie. Sameer Thahir, Shyju Khalid, Sajin Ali and Abbas Thirunavaya have produced this film, which has been released in theatres along with Saiju Kurup’s investigation thriller, Aaram.
