On October 2, 2026, the big Kannada film release of the day was meant to be Century Star Shivarajkumar’s Bail. Written and directed by Pavan Wadeyar, known for films like Googly, Ranavikrama, among others, Bail had Shivarajkumar in khaki again, albeit as a retired cop on a crusade to take down criminals with the wherewithal to circumvent and prevent justice from being served. The film had the Hattrick Hero join hands with veterans Saikumar and Jayaram, while Dheekshith Shetty played a pivotal role.

The film, however, did not have a great theatrical run, with what was thought to be the underdog of the week, Premada Oorali catching the fancy of audiences across the state. Produced by KVN Productions, a banner that seems strangely unable to catch a break irrespective of the scale of the project, Bail is reportedly headed to OTT shortly. According to the buzz in filmi circles, Bail has been picked up by Zee Network and will, therefore, drop on Zee5.

It is said that the film will target the Kannada Rajyotsava holiday and the subsequent Deepavali holidays and drop on the platform on or before October 30, 2026. The platform is yet to confirm this development, though.
The film, meanwhile, followed Shivarajkumar as Vijay, a retired cop who is spurred into action into criminals who are able to con the system and get bail even after committing heinous crimes. He is aided in this by his two friends, played by Saikumar and Jayaram. As the body count increases, a cop begins investigating the deaths. Can Vijay outsmart the cop and continue meting out justice?
