A latest Malayalam horror thriller made its OTT debut on Amazon Prime Video. The film titled Aroopi is now streaming on the popular online platform, along with English subtitles. Here’s more about the movie, its cast and other details before watching it on OTT.
Aroopi, which released on July 3 this year, did not receive much praise from reviewers or viewers. As a result, during its theatrical run, the film received below-average reviews. Abhilash Warrier, who also wrote the screenplay and scenario, is the director of this Malayalam horror supernatural thriller.
Vysakh Ravi, Neha Chawla, Sakshi Badala, Joy Mathew, Sindhu Varma, Kiran Raj, Adithya Raj, Mathew Raju, Reshma, Anjana Menon, Suja Rose, Vishnukanth, Sangeetha, Kannan Sagar, Nebu Abraham, Vinay, Antony Henry, Jojo Antony, and Vaishnav play important roles in Aroopi. Gopi Sundar composed the music for the movie. Under the banner of Punartham Productions, Pradeep Raj is the producer of Aroopi.
The film, which combines supernatural horror with mystery and mythology, is full of suspense and surprising twists till the end. The narrative centres on a centuries-old myth of Padmini Thampuratty, a brave princess from the Karur Mana. The narrative then moves to the present, when an enraged Yakshini trapped inside an antiquated doll is unintentionally released at the Aryanattu Estate.
A group of gullible strangers are soon caught in a deadly struggle against a long-standing evil as a curse envelops everyone who enters the property. They must learn the truth about the spirit as long-kept secrets from the past start to come to light.
