According to recent reports, SonyLIV has secured the digital streaming rights for the Malayalam psychological investigative thriller Aaram, with an OTT release expected shortly. The Saiju Kurup starrer, which released in theatres by the end of September, garnered mostly positive feedback for an intriguing plot and performances.
Directed by Rajesh Parameswaran, the film stars Saiju Kurup as CI Anto Eappen — a dedicated police officer swept into an intense investigation after an unravelling series of unexpected events. Siddique, Askar Ali, Sudheesh, Anju Kurian, Shaheen Siddique, Gokulan, Manoj K U, Erik Adam, Meera Vasudev, Surabhi Santosh, Appunni Sasi, Harith Vijayakrishnan, and Ajith Koshi are among the supporting cast of the film.
Scripted by Vishnu Ramachandran, the narrative explores the moral turmoil of an honest cop who finds himself consumed by fear and guilt when forced to choose between institutional pressure and his own integrity. The movie is produced by Dr Junaise Babu Good Hope under the banner of Good Hope Production & Distribution.
Malayalam web series Eyes on SonyLIV
A new web series starring Nikhila Vimal, Shruti Ramachandran and Kani Kusurthi debuted on the platform recently. The show highlights a dark narrative driven by unhealthy obsession and possessiveness. It introduces "Eyes", an application created by an all-female team to protect individuals escaping coercive partners or stalkers. Framing relationship toxicity through a thrilling lens, the series unpacks the chilling impact of extreme romantic control. Dev Mohan, Saniya Iyyappan, Anagha, Anand Manmadhan, Athira Patel and Parvathy are also appearing in supporting parts in this series. Director Manu Ashokan is joining hands with acclaimed scriptwriter duo Bobby-Sanjay and producer T R Shamsudheen again for Eyes.
