The official first look for Paripadi, an upcoming high-budget movie written, directed, and starring Joju George, has just been released. The film features a massive supporting cast of around 100 debutants. Slated for a worldwide theatrical premiere in December this year, the film shares a similar genre with Joju George's directorial debut, Pani, but sets itself apart with a significantly grander scale, a broader cast, and higher technical standards.
Filmed mainly in Chalakudy against a Thrissur backdrop, Paripadi features about 100 debutantes who earned their roles by completing a rigorous four-month training programme. To ensure a fresh and distinct cinematic feel for this large-scale project, the makers assigned dedicated lines to every single character, including all the newcomers. Currently undergoing post-production, the film also boasts a crew of prominent technical talents from across Indian cinema.
Paripadi marks the sophomore directorial venture of Joju George, following the strong box office success and warm theatrical reception of his 2024 directorial debut, Pani, which has naturally heightened audience expectations. Pani, which stars Joju George, Sagar Surya, Junais and Seema, is streaming on SonyLIV in Malayalam and other South Indian languages.
The high-budget film is scheduled for a multi-language release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada. The technical crew boasts acclaimed names, with Rajeev Ravi handling cinematography and Yuvan Shankar Raja composing the score. A glimpse into the lead characters of the movie was revealed in a video released on October 23.
