The makers of the upcoming Malayalam coming-of-age film, Merri Boys, have confirmed that the movie will have a theatrical release soon. This news comes in the wake of the film’s lead star, Aiswarya Raj, attending the Toronto International Film Festival for the special screening of her other flick, Half.

Listin Stephen is producing this movie under the Magic Frames name with an emphasis on giving newbies opportunity. After making her screen debut in Kunchacko Boban's Officer on Duty, Aiswarya returns as a lead actor in the Malayalam film with Merri Boys. Merri Boys is a campus-based movie with themes of romance and camaraderie, according to its producers. The film, written and directed by debutant Maanas Mahesh, is set for release soon. Sreeprasad Chandran wrote the script and screenplay for the movie. Filming of this movie was completed in a number of locations in Meghalaya and Kerala. Parvathy Das, Shon Joy, P.S. Keerthana, and Vishak Nair are among the rest of the cast in this movie.
Malayalam film ‘Half’ at TIFF
As the first Malayalam movie to premiere in the Toronto International Film Festival's (TIFF) Midnight Madness section this year, director Samjad PS's Malayalam film "Half" is under the limelight. International audiences responded favourably to the movie when it was screened at the festival. The focus of Half is on Ethan (Ranjith Sajeev) and Ivy (Aiswarya Raj), siblings with extraordinary powers due to their interspecies parentage (human mother, vampire father). As they travel through the barren roads of Rajasthan, a set of local criminals unexpectedly assault them. Under the cover of darkness, the brother and sister quickly recuperate and go out to exact retribution.
