The film is currently at Rs 265 cr worldwide. Directed by Girish AD, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has sustained an extraordinary theatrical run since its Onam release, powered by strong family audience support, positive word of mouth and an impressive performance in overseas markets.
According to the latest box-office estimates, the film has collected approximately Rs 265 crore worldwide, with an India gross of Rs 144.10 crore and an overseas gross of around Rs 121crore. Its India net collection has reached approximately Rs 123.40 crore. The latest numbers make Bethlehem Kudumba Unit one of the rare Malayalam films to enter the Rs 250 crore worldwide club, joining the likes of Lokah Chapter 1 and Empuraan,.
More importantly, the achievement marks a major milestone in Nivin Pauly’s career, with the film emerging as his biggest commercial success so far.

A remarkable jump from Rs 16 crore on opening day
The scale of Bethlehem Kudumba Unit's success becomes even more significant when its journey from the opening day is considered. The film reportedly began its theatrical run with a worldwide gross of around Rs 16.2 crore. It continued to grow through the Onam holidays and, unlike many festival releases that experience a sharp decline after the initial weekend, maintained momentum well into its second week.
By Day 13, the film had reportedly reached approximately Rs 222.25 crore worldwide, including an India gross of Rs 114.50 crore and overseas collections of Rs 107.75 crore. It crossed Rs 239 crore by Day 15 before finally moving past the Rs 250 crore milestone.
The Kerala market has been one of the major pillars behind the film's success, while the overseas market has delivered equally impressive numbers. The film's performance outside India has played a particularly important role in taking its worldwide total beyond Rs 250 crore.

One of the biggest success stories of 2026 before Bethlehem Kudumba Unit was Vaazha II: Biopic of a Billion Bros. The film became a sensational blockbuster and, according to trade reports, crossed the Rs 200 crore mark worldwide during its theatrical run.
Its Kerala performance was particularly historic, with Vaazha 2 emerging as one of the strongest performers ever in the state. Reports during its run stated that the film had crossed Rs 200 crore worldwide and subsequently became the highest-grossing Malayalam film in Kerala.
The success of Vaazha 2 was especially significant because it proved that a film driven by youthful appeal, humour and strong audience connection could generate blockbuster numbers without following the conventional template of a star-driven action spectacle.
Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3 was another major Malayalam release to operate in the Rs 200 crore-plus range in 2026. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the third instalment of the hugely popular thriller franchise carried enormous expectations and enjoyed a strong worldwide run even with mixed response. The film came close to the Rs 250 crore milestone, with trade reports tracking its progress towards that figure. Its overseas performance was also significant, with Drishyam 3 becoming the first South Indian film of 2026 to cross the $10 million mark overseas, according to reports at the time.
