ETV WIN continues to back some special films, and their new venture is Veta, a film that appears to take the audience deep into the rural heartlands of the Godavari region. Co-produced by Radha Damodar Studios, the project was formally launched earlier today in Hyderabad.
Sandeep Saroj and Satwika Jampa play the lead roles in this film, which is named after the Chiranjeevi classic Veta. The title itself has already created curiosity, and what the hunt is about has been kept under wraps.
Veta also marks the directorial debut of Ashok Kotipalli. The makers say that Veta is a proper commercial entertainer set against a natural village backdrop. Sandeep Saroj is expected to appear in a completely different avatar.
The film also brings together an interesting supporting cast, including veteran director K.S. Ravi Kumar, Rajeev Kanakala, Raghu Babu, Ravindra Vijay, Prabhavathi, Pramodini and Vikas Vasishta.
For Sandeep, VETA is an important project after the National Award-winning film, Committee Kurrollu. The technical team includes cinematographer Wajid Baig, composer Chaitan Bharadwaj, fight choreographer A. Vijay, production designer Arvind Mule and editor Raghavendra Thirun.
With a village setting, intense emotions, romance, and action, Veta looks like an attempt to combine the flavour of a Godavari story with a proper commercial cinema format. The makers are expected to reveal more about the film in the coming days.
