Adivi Sesh’s much-awaited spy thriller G2, the sequel to the 2018 hit Goodachari, is now eyeing a February 5, 2027 theatrical release. According to the latest industry buzz, the makers are working towards this date, with an official announcement expected soon.
The film has been in production on a large scale and is being designed as an international espionage thriller. Adivi Sesh returns as Agent Gopi, taking the story forward from the first film. The sequel is directed by Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi, making his directorial debut after working as an editor on films including Major. Sesh is also involved in the writing of the project.
The casting is another major attraction. Wamiqa Gabbi plays the female lead, while Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has a prominent role in the film. The cast also includes Madhu Shalini, Prakash Raj and Jisshu Sengupta in important parts.
G2 is being mounted on a much bigger canvas than its predecessor, with shooting taking place across multiple locations and countries. The team has reportedly worked with 23 specially created sets and a 150-day shooting plan, underlining the scale of the project. The film is being planned as a five-language release.
Sricharan Pakala, who composed the music for Goodachari, returns for the sequel. The technical team also includes cinematographer Azeem Mohammad and editor Kodati Pavan Kalyan. The film is backed by People Media Factory, Abhishek Agarwal Arts and AK Entertainments.
