Mamitha Baiju had two films out in theatres recently. Both centered on age-gap romances, pitting her against older leading men, namely Suriya in Vishwanath and Sons and Nivin Pauly in Bethlehem Kudumba Unit. Out first was Vishwanath and Sons, the Tamil-Telugu bilingual by Venkat Atluri, which although a box office winner, was also called out for normalizing a 20-year age difference between the lead pair. Released in theatres on August 14, the film is, according to reports, gearing up for its OTT outing in mid-September.
The buzz on social media is that Vishwanath and Sons will make its way to Netflix as early as September 14, 2026. The streamer is yet to confirm the same, but a 4-week window is the norm, so, it is more than likely an accurate prediction. The film, written by Venkat, featuring music by GV Prakash and cinematography by Lokah fame Nimish Ravi, is the third highest grossing Tamil film of 2026 as of now. It also stars Radhikaa Sarathkumar, Raveena Tandon, Nassar, Rajiv Menon, Bhavani Sre, among others.

Vishwanath and Sons revolves around Sanjay Vishwanath (Suriya), an ultra-rich entrepreneur, with an aversion to ‘settling down’, following his father Vijay Vishwanath’s (Rajiv Menon) decision to walk out on his mother and have a second family. Sanjay’s mother, Nirmala Devi (Radhikaa), though, yearns for an heir to the family, a problem that he solves by engaging an anonymous surrogate to bear a child for him. All is well, until the child is diagnosed with an ailment necessitating a bone marrow transplant, for which, the birth mother has to be traced.
Who the surrogate is and how the family dynamics pan out once she comes into the picture forms much of the narrative. The film will be available with Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi audio as well besides the original Tamil and Telugu versions.
