When Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar released on September 11, 2026, the immediate reaction from most viewers was that director Shahad Nilambur 's crime drama gave Parvathy Thiruvothu her Drishyam. The film, about a top cop investigating a possible custodial death and the subsequent cover up, had a good box office run and is said to have grossed in the vicinity of Rs 50 crore.

At the time of the release, the film did not have an OTT partner on board, but following positive reviews and theatrical performance, the buzz was that JioHotstar had snapped up the rights. Days later, though, unconfirmed reports appeared that it was Netflix after all. Turns out, that was true, and the streamer has released the hit Malayalam film without much fanfare on its platform on October 9, 2026. Right now, Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar is available in Malayalam with English subtitles only.

In the film, Parvathy played Aleena, a police constable, who got into the force on compassionate grounds after losing her husband in the line of duty. One night, while on patrol, a drunk driver is caught, and he attempts to make a run for it from the station. In the ensuing scuffle between him and those on duty, a gun goes off and he drops dead.

What follows is the frantic attempt by these cops to cover up the incident and save their skin, which maybe easier said than done, what with a top cop with a stellar crime busting record hot on their heels. Can the motley gang outsmart him? That's what Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar is all about.
