Mango Pachcha was meant to be the Kannada film for Sankranti 2026. That did not happen and it hit theatres months later. Despite having an OTT partner firmly in place at the time of the theatrical outing, the film was announced to begin streaming only recently and was given a September 14, 2026 date by the platform – JioHotstar. This would have given Jr Kiccha’s debut film a festive OTT outing on the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi. But then, the film did not arrive on said date and the streamer had, subsequently, changed the date to ‘Coming Soon’.
Earlier on September 17, JioHotstar announced a new date for Mango Pachcha; the film will now arrive on September 25, 2026. What is interesting about this development is the buzz in industry circles about that being the possible OTT date for Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown Ups. It’s been rumoured that Zee5 has procured the streaming rights of Toxic and will drop it on or around September 25, 2026. This, though, has not been confirmed by the platform.
Besides introducing Kiccha Sudeep’s nephew Sanchith to Kannada film audiences as a leading man, Mango Pachcha also marked the directorial debut of Viveka. The film, which was all of 1 hour and 35 minutes for the theatrical run, has apparently been trimmed and will be 1 hour and 29 minutes only on OTT. Also starring Mayur Patel, Jai and Kajal Kunder, among others, the film revolved around Sanchith’s character Prashanth aka Pachcha, and how he goes from being a movie piracy expert to running a thriving drug empire.
Although Sanchith received positive feedback for his portrayal of Pachcha, the film did not work at the box office. The actor is yet to announce his follow up project and it remains unknown if he will revive Jimmy, a film that was meant to mark his directorial and acting debut.
