Sirius XM Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: SIRI) rose 1.74% in early trading session on Monday the Satellite Radio Grown Folk Jamz was recently added to SIRI’s Project Amplify to broaden its on-air programming. The station, which is currently accessible on SiriusXM channel 362, will play R&B, Gospel, Old School, Hip-Hop, Smooth Jazz, Funk, Classic Soul, and Love Ballads.
Todd “T-O” Reynolds will act as the program director for Grown Folk Jamz’s SiriusXM channel, while Al Twitty, CEO of Urban Radio Group, will continue to supply imagery.
Sirius XM made a pledge to the Federal Communications Commission in conjunction with the merger of Sirius and XM in 2008, Project Amplify, to promote various opinions across Sirius XM’s Music and Talk channels.
This diversification of Sirius XM with Grown Folks Jamz, which has long been well regarded, provides listeners with a timeless combination of music and is projected to increase corporate users.
The corporation is also forming alliances. It signed a new arrangement with Comcast, its first broadband TV provider, in the second quarter of fiscal 2022. The arrangement involves the introduction of a fully integrated SiriusXM audio experience to millions of Comcast subscribers via the Xfinity platform, which will also offer video later this year.
Sirius XM developed top-up channels to highlight the music of black musicians such as Whitney Houston, Tupac Shakur, Biggie Smalls, and Prince during Black Music Appreciation Month. It held a broad lineup of events, including a musical cruise in New York City featuring Yacht rock icons Kenny Loggins and Christopher Cross, as well as small stage series performances with Grammy-winning rapper 2 Chainz in Atlanta and Def Leppard in Los Angeles.
These have assisted the organization in reaching out to and engaging with new consumers. In the second quarter of fiscal 2022, Sirius XM attracted 23,000 net new self-pay members and 54,000 paid promotional subscribers. Subscription revenue increased 5% to $1.7 billion.
Sirius XM intends to strengthen in-app personalization later this year in order to promote content discovery, as well as to improve CarPlay and Android auto integration and to extend and develop its product offerings. This is likely to increase its bottom line.
