Blackpink will headline the British Summer Time event in 2023, making the four-piece the first K-pop group to headline a major UK festival. Blackpink have been named as the newest headliners for British Summer Time’s (BST) 10th anniversary festival in 2023. According to BST, the South Korean girl quintet Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa will become the first K-pop act to headline a major UK festival when they hit the stage at London’s Hyde Park on 2nd July.
They join the already announced lineup of pop sensation P!nk, US vocalist Billy Joel, and rocker Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
Their BST Hyde Park concert will also be their first at the London Festival.
Over the course of their six-year existence, the girl group has released two studio albums: 2020’s The Album, which charted at number two in the UK album charts, and 2022’s Born Pink, which charted at number one.
They’ve also worked with worldwide celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, and Dua Lipa.
With over 82 million followers, the girl group is the most-subscribed act on YouTube and has won two MTV Video Music Awards.
The band is presently on tour for their 2022/2023 Born Pink tour, which will visit Europe in November.
This year’s BST festival featured performances by Sir Elton John as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, The Rolling Stones, who celebrated their 60th anniversary, and worldwide superstar Adele, who returned for two heartbreaking sets.
Duran Duran wrapped up the year’s last night with a performance of big classics.
The first presale tickets will be available to American Express cardholders at 10 a.m. on October 21, with the BST presale beginning on October 24 and the general sale beginning on October 27.
